Top Takeaways from 10+ Breakthrough Dietitian Episodes This Year
===
[00:00:00] Welcome back to the Dietitian Boss podcast. I'm Libby Rothchild, registered dietitian and business coach. If you're growing your private practice, building confidence in counseling or just feeling overwhelmed with where to focus next, this episode is a must listen. Today I'm recapping some of the most impactful moments and biggest takeaways that we've covered on the podcast this year.
These are the strategies that move the needle, the episodes that sparked dms and the lessons our clients keep coming back to. So if you spent this year starting strong and ending up stuck, or if you're just wondering whether your effort even mattered, then this recap is for you.
Leading better sessions and building a business that aligns with the lifestyle you want in 2026 and beyond. So firstly, I wanna share the most replayed strategies.
We walked through exactly how to lead the crucial first client call, especially if you're [00:01:00] anxious or second guessing yourself, like I know many of us do. I broke down the agenda, how to set the tone and what to say to build trust. So it's really a combination of structure and empathy. I still hear from dietitians saying that they listen to the episode before every new client session, and that's the goal, right?
I want you to feel capable and in charge even when you're still figuring things out. The next would be three phrases to stop Overtalk in session. So overtalking is a common fear, especially when you're trying to sound smart or feel silence.
And this episode gave three simple phrases to calm that urge and refocus the conversation back on the client. So if you've ever finished a session thinking, did I even let them speak, then this one is for you. Remember that we wanna avoid overtalking as much as possible. Some of you, this is more challenging than others, but you want the client or the patient to feel heard.
Now, this applies not only for counseling sessions and follow ups, but also for sales calls. [00:02:00] Next would be the weekly checklist for booking clients. So one more top tip is the exact weekly checklist that I gave new dietitians to build the momentum. It's not just about having perfect presence online or waiting until you feel all set up and have all your forms and order.
It's about taking simple, consistent action like messaging, potential clients that are called leads following up, right? Even if you've already sent one or two messages. And then reviewing your outreach tracker, right? So you should be documenting your process and your progress. Oh, I use this checklist in with private coaching clients, and it's inside of the dietitian boss library if you do want to grab it.
And even if you want support while you fill it out. So these episodes weren't just popular. They're working right? Because you've told me dietitians let us know. And also our members have told us that they booked consults and feel calmer going into a session from these tips. And of course with the coaching they get inside of the library.
That's our month to month membership. Okay. So I would [00:03:00] say that guests who've also inspired the most action this year. There's a few notable guests. They're all amazing, and I'm so grateful for all the guests that have contributed to podcast episodes this year. I interviewed some powerhouse dietitians who've shared their career paths and how they build brands outside the box. Marcy Evans, the episode about 10 years of leading training.
she talks about her journey running online courses for over a decade, and we discuss burnout, leadership, and what it really takes to grow your confidence. When you're teaching others, she reminded us that systems and self-trust are key, when going to scale your services. she also talked about the nitty gritty of creating her content online, her courses, which I think is really helpful.
Shelly Redmond from Cajun roots to YouTube. She showed us how she blends her southern heritage with private practice and content creation.
She's got such a fun personality, and this episode did help a lot of dietitians reframe how they think about content, and you don't have to have. Not even using Instagram. You can also use other [00:04:00] platforms like YouTube to be consistent, helpful, and get clients.
Another guest would be Stacy Dunn, who talks about LinkedIn for dietitians. So she dropped gem after Gem on LinkedIn strategy, and So many of you are ignoring LinkedIn and Stacey made a clear case of why that's a mistake.
So from positioning your headline to Building Real Connections, this past episode is gonna help you feel less spammy and more strategic even if you are already using that platform. So if you missed any of these guest episodes, Marcy Evans. Shelly Redmond or Stacy Dunn, I definitely wanna make sure that you add these to your queue because they're gold for long-term career confidence, not just short-term client growth.
So then the last section I wanna talk about today, would be systems to attract clients. So we also had some episodes that broke down client, getting strategies without relying only. On hoping someone books or only on Instagram.
So the episode, no dms, no growth was a standout. one of the most practical [00:05:00] takeaways from this episode is that if your bio isn't clear, and if your content doesn't match your niche, then it's hard for clients to say yes even if they like you, I shared a three point system and the exact edits to making your bio, and dietitians did love this because it was clear, doable, and effective.
Funnel simplified is another popular one. So we walk through what your first funnel should look like in plain language. So I'm not talking about anything fancy, just how can someone book from you, from a Google search or from a very simple process,
And this answer breaks down what to fix in plain language. Finally, the 15 minute Instagram routine, if you're short on time, that episode, the 15 minute IG routine for dietitians is really helpful with no fluff. It's action oriented. So how to post, check your direct messages and follow up with leads without spending your whole day on the phone, right?
Because we don't wanna get burnout as clinicians. So a bonus would be, innovation and artificial intelligence. So one thing I'm proud of this year is how [00:06:00] we leaned in to innovation. So I had an episode all about how AI is not replacing dietitians. It's making us better from brainstorming content to practicing motivational interviewing.
and dietitians who embrace them are moving faster without sacrificing quality, right? We're really using the speed and structure of artificial intelligence to improve our workflows, to reduce burnout, We add the nuance, the critical thinking, and the empathy and the AI tools are gonna add the structure and the speed.
So if you've ever stared at a blank screen trying to write a caption or an email, then definitely this podcast episode is for you about innovation and artificial intelligence. So if you're listening to this recap episode, and you're thinking, I got overwhelmed halfway through the year, this is your reset.
Go re-listen to one of the episodes I mentioned above that stands out and take one action. You don't need more hustle specifically. You just need one step at a time. Like what we tell our clients, right? And that's what I'll keep helping you find here week after week on this podcast,
