As an online dietitian in today's episode, we're going to be discussing a topic that's become increasingly popular among dieticians in specifically in our community. And that's going digital. So we're going to be talking about how dieticians, like you can make money online.
By taking your business to the next level. So the first. Tip that I want to mention is something that I don't talk about enough and that's webinars in specifically on other people's platforms. So it's called a joint webinar. Now that's a big way that I grew my business. When I first got started, I did a joint webinar with dietician connection. I did a joint webinar with another dietician that creates courses about motivational interviewing.
And I did a joint webinars with nutrition entrepreneur. I did a few other joint webinars as well with other other dietician, businesses and businesses that promote dieticians in business, which oh. Dieticians. Let's see, it was a practice group, dieticians in business. I believe it's called from the.
Another DPG from the academy. So I was doing a lot of collaboration to help spread the word of who I was and how I could help dietitians. And I did that without having to self host the webinars. So that means that there was lower tech involved. So if you have an opportunity with your target market, let's say that you're working with sports performance to go find associations.
And if they'll allow you to be a guest on their webinar, that's a fantastic way for you to start building your brand and your reputation and start using those calls to action, to tell people about. What you have to offer where maybe it's an ebook or maybe you're offering consulting services or coaching, but you're able to really promote that and get your name out there. So that's fantastic.
You can even count being a guest on a podcast. That's not quite the same as a webinar, but it's still a way for you to leverage someone else's technology. And there's a lot of benefits from doing that all the time, but especially if you're getting started and you don't quite yet have your own platform in place.
So, you know, digital transformation. Is the way to go in today's world and it's no secret. You know that the internet and even, you know, using AI and Chad GBT has changed the way that we all do business. And the nutrition industry is no exception. So with the increase in popularity of online services and e-commerce platforms.
We as dieticians have this amazing opportunity to take our businesses online. We can reach more people. We can even leverage our time and offer different services and products that require less of us. And that's never really been an option. This is still very new and innovative as a way for us to make money and create more impact as a dietician. And I am so excited about it.
So much so that I created a business about it. And it's been really fun seeing you become your own boss. Now, there are several ways that dieticians like us can make money online and the possibilities are endless. So some dieticians, some of our clients do offer consultations online and even meal plans, maybe some through a meal planning services, like eat love, who I've had here as a guest on the podcast and nutrition coaching, maybe through their websites or through a landing page or through their electronic medical record system.
Like practice better. And others have started selling digital products like eBooks or even webinars. Some of you sell webinars and online courses. By offering digital products and services. As dieticians, you can reach a broader audience and you can break through geographical barriers and increase your earning potential. So no more does that dietician in rural Montana say I don't have anybody in my local neighborhood that wants to see a dietician because you have the ability to use the internet.
It's just a matter of practicing different strategies and tactics to create that impact online, which is what I show you how to do. The second tip that I want to give you is to develop a strong online presence. Now, you know, I'm a fan of that because if you want to become an online dietician, you're going to need to learn how to develop your online presence. Now the key aspect of taking your dietitian business online is to create a strong presence. People have to know that you exist and having a website and a social media account.
Or even just a social media account and a landing page or a social media account and an electronic medical record system, like practice better that are regularly updated. So you don't just have a social media account, but you are actually actively posting and you're providing value on that platform.
For example, that can help you build trust. So potential clients and people are going to start seeing you as an authority figure and an authority leader in your field. Even if you're just starting as an authority, figure in nutrition more broadly before you've niched down to let's say authority figure in that prenatal space. Right? First you got to just start by getting started and put yourself out there.
Right? Which can feel so uncomfortable. That's why those positive affirmations can really come into play. Networking with other dieticians, I think needs more attention and credibility here, because oftentimes when you build your online presence, you might be getting folks that want to work with you, but they don't really fit what you do, either your expertise or your interest. So maybe you've got someone that comes to you with Crohn's disease.
And you're just not really sure how to manage that, but Hey, so happens that you do know a Crohn's disease dietician that you can refer to and that's going to help your credibility by helping people refer them to the appropriate practitioner. So there's a lot of benefits with. Networking with other dieticians and even wellness practitioners, right? Like therapists online.
And in these online communities, like whether it be Instagram or you're connecting through YouTube, you can also grow your business and stay up to date with industry trends. Right? You might want to have high level knowledge. I have IBS and IBD, but not necessarily be involved in the therapeutic treatment of IBS and IBD. And that's where knowing people in different industries and niches can really help you increase your credibility and presence. Right. We can't be expected to know everything is dietitians, right? That's why.
The beauty is in specializing in one area, maybe that's diabetes or food, freedom and intuitive eating. The next point I want to make is developing a strong brand identity. Now this has gotta be one of my favorite topics because I love helping dietitians build a brand. And that's really what helps them become their own boss. Because when you can clearly define who you are and how you stand out and how you want to be represented.
That's a great way for people to differentiate you from the next nutritionist. Right? So going digital. It's an excellent opportunity for dieticians like you to grow your business and to make money online. And in a flexible ways, right? While you're building a family or you have other obligations and offering online services and creating a strong online presence.
You can reach more people and you can increase your earning potential even while you're working a clinical job, or you're also a student. And as the world becomes increasingly digital, even more so after COVID in a post pandemic world, it's an essential way for you to stay up to date with the latest trends and take advantage of the multiple opportunities that the online world has to offer.
